Implementing the Independent Curriculum, MTsN 1 Pati Runs the P5PPRA Project

In order to achieve project implementation to strengthening the “Profil Pelajar Pancasila dan Profil Pelajar Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin (P5PPRA)´of the Independent Curriculum, MTsN 1 Pati held various activities on Saturday (2/9). These activities include morning routines, exercise, healthy eating, cleaning the school environment and classrooms. Taking the theme of Sustainable Lifestyle and Awakening Body and Soul, the activity took place in the MTsN 1 Pati, attended by all madrasah residents.

“The implementation of P5PPRA activities which began with istiqomah or habituation activities this morning went smoothly,” said Henny Nurhasanah, Head of the Independent Curriculum Implementation Development Team.

“Those activities are primarily aimed for students in seventh and eighth grades, but everyone are involved. They (students) look very happy and delighted, even the teachers and staffs are enthusiastic to took part in making this morning’s activity a success by providing assistance to the students,” she added.

According to Henny, there is something more important and essential in implementing P5PPRA, that is providing real experiences to students for the character strengthening process. In addition, it also provides opportunities for students to learn from the surrounding environment.

“So it’s not about the activities, but how the character of the students after participating in these activities is what evaluated,” she explained.

Furthermore, Henny explained, P5PPRA will run once a month, where for this month the seventh grade will take the theme of a sustainable lifestyle, while for the eighth grade the theme will be awakening body and soul.

“This activity will be carried out in stages once a month to be precise on the 2nd every month. For the theme of a sustainable lifestyle, we took the topic of green houses. We hope that all teachers can work together with the team to complete the green house project and for the success of Independent Curriculum Implementation at MTsN 1 Pati,” she hoped.

Meanwhile, Ali Musyafak, Headmaster of MTsN 1 Pati, said that P5PPRA activities are a mandate that must be carried out in the independent curriculum. In line with Henny, Syafak also stated that this activity which was very easy, lively, and could be carried out by all of them, used to evaluated the extent of student character development and growth as a form of practice after following the lesson.

“Alhamdulillah, MTsN 1 Pati as an Independent Curriculum Implementation (IKM) pilot project has done this. Starting with the lightest thing by taking the theme of a sustainable lifestyle. Kerren (cool), the activities ran smoothly, were entertaining, and at the same time contained extraordinary lesson,” he appreciated.

“Hopefully in the future IKM can be fully implemented, so that it can guide and develop the potential of each student through the next project. Greetings from IKM,” said Syafak.
